Education

Shateren, the Madame of the brothel she grew up in, was a low power Thaumaturge and began Yuren's training. The training involves a lot of meditation and experimentation with the different elements. At present, she's only been able to consistently use two elements. There's a minimum of three required before someone is considered a full thaumaturge.

Shateren began Yuren's training partially out of kindness and partially out of an alteritor motive. A fully trained Thaumaturge in the house would be good for business.Trained properly, she could use her powers to enhance the experience. Her abilities would have manifested before hand, little things like objects moving and fires flaring up around her when she experiences an emotional surge.

Physical Abilities: Arguably, she’s good at pleasing men. She’s very good at making teas for various purposes from simple enjoyment to remedies for illnesses.
Mystical Abilities: Her Sacred Gem gives her abilities very similar to those of a Thaumaturge. She can create blasts of energy. Her eyes tend to glow when she’s using her ability. She is still in training as a Thaumaturge.

History

Her parents weren't well off, but they weren't poor. They had enough to get by on. She was the youngest of four children: one son and three daughters. Her brother was doted on, given everything he wanted. Her sisters were lucky enough to find work enough to support themselves. She hasn't heard from her family in years, but she knows her brother is married. After paying the dowry for her sisters to marry, there was nothing left. Her birth had been an unwelcome surprise. When her mother was pregnant, her father prayed to Kal Kiterr for her to be a boy. The closer her mother got to giving birth, the more he prayed. The day she was born, he ran out into the streets, screaming at Kal Kiterr, demanding to know what he had done to be given another daughter. She was useless to him. She couldn't be married off; no one would take a woman with no dowry. It had been hard enough for her father to put two dowries together. He couldn't do a third. He refused to have anything to do with her, leaving it up to her mother and sisters to care for her. For the first six years of her life he wouldn't look at her.

As she got older, things began happening around her. Things flying, catching on fire, people getting hurt. No one really connected these incidents to her and she certainly wasn't going to tell anyone it was her, even if they were happening by accident. It wasn't until a woman named Shateren came by the house that the connection was made. Yuren knew enough to convince everyone that she wasn't aware of her abilities. She is certain that Shateren knew she was lying, but she never said anything about it. Shateren told Yuren's parents that she had potential to become a powerful Thaumaturge and she was willing to train me. She offered them a great deal of money to take me from my home. Her father had never seen that much money in his life and agreed immediately. Her mother protested, but not much and most of that was for show.

Shateren taught her many things over the next few years. Much of that had to do with pleasing customers, but she also learned basic skills of a Thaumaturge and how to apply them to her new profession.

In the brothel, she made friends there for the first time. The work wasn't so bad after the first few… customers. Madame Shateren made sure that her first ones were gentle. There's no sense in traumatizing someone that young with bad experiences. She was fourteen the first time. At first, it was only one man a week as that was all she could handle. Then it moved up to two then three then eventually she was seeing a customer a day.

Relationships

She is grateful to Nuren for getting her out of the whorehouse she grew up in. She's aware of his preference for men, but it hasn't stopped her from trying.
She hates Kinrou for rebuffing her advances. She adores Nuren, looks down on the twins, and is afraid of Xiren. She sees Inhari as a rival, as she was the only woman in the group until Inhari was chosen as the new Chief Priestess replacing the elderly one they'd had before.
