Madness from brain damage.

Perception

The nomads view this illness as nothing more than wolfling superstition.

Treatment

When humans contract this illness, it is often misdiagnosed. Affected individuals are sent to Aakaulia to keep them away from the general populace and give them a place to live out what remains of their life.

Among the wolflings and siathi, sufferers are placed under heavy shields until they recover. In the case of wolflings and siathi, they’re taught how to use the Gift.

Individuals who receive the correct treatment will recover, but they remain susceptible to the illness and are at increased risk of relapse.

There are three options available:

  • Receive treatment, recover, and spend the rest of their life going from treatment to treatment.
    • This is, at best, a temporary measure as treatments will be less and less effective.
  • Individuals can choose to have their magic burned out. This will cure the ailment and prevent any recurrences.
    • Known side effects: it’s like living your life with a permanently numb hand.
  • Learn how to use the Gift
    • This is the most effective treatment
