History
Taren, the group's founder, began his life as a young man from Lirayen. At age eight his parents apprenticed him to a locksmith as was the custom of the time. Taren had little patience for the old man. He was at least half deaf and would not let Taren do much of anything other than clean the workshop. He taught himself to use the tools and slowly learned how to open every lock in the workshop. While on jobs with his master he began stealing small yet valuable items and some coins. Whenever he became bored he let himself in to a house and took whatever he pleased. He encountered a group of thieves on the road one day and boasted that he could open any lock. After opening a complex lock, the thieves were impressed by his skill. They agreed to work together on a job that proved to be more lucrative than anything they'd done before. Following this windfall, these four men became the first of the Shadowhawk Bandits.
