The Alcove
Purpose[edit]
The popular inn known as The Alcove was first built in 256 by an up and coming merchant named Briar. He wanted something more than a stall in the market square to sell his wares and had an eye for expanding his business.
Since its initial construction, the inn has added more rooms and expanded a few others to make room for the increase in business its seen. This inn is well-known for its simple yet plentiful fare, decent quality brews and vintages that haven't been watered down, and clean rooms.
It quickly became popular with travelers of all sorts after an injured adventurer showed up at the door after closing. Briar lent his aid, despite the late hour. In thanks, the adventurer spread word of the fantastic Alcove and its owner and each successive proprietor has done their best to maintain that reputation.
Alterations[edit]
Additional rooms have been added on to house more guests. In 378, the kitchen was renovated to make it a little bigger and update the worn out cabinets. The proprietor at the time, a woman who was known to all simply as Ma'am, also had a new cooktop put in.
In 410, the dinning room was expanded.
Five years ago, the current proprietor replaced the main windows. There wasn't anything wrong with them, unless you consider a drunk patron tossing another one through the main window a problem...
