The name Nightlord is a misnomer. Their proper title is Liurtekan, which is a lunyari term that means 'night protector'. It's erroneously translated into the human language as Nightlord. As such it's led to the misconception that they're male. All of the Nightlords are female and always have been. In this respect they're much like their counterparts the Rose Knights.
Structure
They answer only to Empress Hilandra. Within the Nightlords themselves there is no actual hierarchy.
