Type: Solitary mountain
Location: Datroya Plains, Atharia
Height: 30,000 feet
Alternate name: The Spire
Geography
The Spire stands alone on the far end of the Datroya Plains. Its top is covered in snow year round, but beneath the snow line the mountain is bare of any kind of vegetation. Nothing lives there. It's the boundary marker for the plains even though they don't end at its base, continuing on for another thirty-six kilm. There's no reason for anyone to go anywhere near it.
Beliefs
Swimmer folklore insists that it's cursed, that the spirits had made it bare of life as punishment for some unforgivable transgression long ago. Out of respect for their beliefs, the majority of the human population avoids the mountain.
Climbing
There are a few daredevils who attempt to climb the Spire. most of these die trying. Bragging about having completed a crime is socially frowned on.
