Residents here are very religious and particular about their beliefs and superstitions. Stone carvers, net weavers, boat makers, and fishermen make up the bulk of their professional lives.

This town is unique in that the leadership falls to a senior member of the Chant of Water.
History
Though largely forgotten, this town was established by a small group of people who broke off from the Chant of Water  to worship Imbria. Evidence of this remains in the crescent moons carved into the rocks. Well into modern times the motif is still popular among stone carvers.

The original town was all but wiped out by a massive summer storm in 488. Most of the town's original 30 inhabitants were killed. Those that survived attempted to rebuild but there just weren't enough of them left to make a viable town. A few years later a group of people stumbled upon the remains of the town, traveling by boat from Ludrasi Anchorage. Their boat ran afoul of some sharp rocks just beneath the surface of the water known as the Widowmaker's Teeth. They were ferrying some priests to the sanctuary on Luathrus Island to the north as well as carrying some other passengers. Mot of their cargo was lost but thankfully only one sailor drowned.
Only with study and patience would one decipher the words, putting the letters in the correct order.

The priests took this as a sign from Kal Valorn that they should end their journey in Lunais Cove instead. Imbria's followers were reluctant at first to allow followers of the Chant of Water to settle there, but without exposing themselves as heretics they couldn't voice their objections. The two groups learned to live in peace until the remaining members of the Chant of Night  passed away. The town is now exclusively populated by followers of the Water Lord. The only sign that Imbria was ever worshiped there are the moon symbols dominant in the architecture and carvings.
This is a difficult thing for Jiinalese people who wish to learn her ways as they have their own language. Many are put in the position of having to learn the language of the mainland if they didn't know it already in order to learn the cypher. In 485 there was a sufficiently high number of Imbria's followers in Jiinal that some of her texts were translated into Jiinalese. They formed their own small colony of Lunais Cove  on the far western side of Ludrasi Island.

The old buildings that survived the flood are circular in shape as an homage to the moon. The great hall, before it was destroyed in the flood, was crescent shaped. Newer buildings are primarily round to keep with the town's tradition although some buildings are built in the traditional dome shape of the Jiinalese by necessity, such as the smoke houses.
The Lunar script uses the same base alphabet as the rest of An'katerr. To keep their writings to each other a secret they shift the letters by 6, a number that is sacred to them. 5 is sacred to the rest of An'katerr so it's unlikely they would think to use a 6 shift.

Hidden within the reaches of the Talmalee Mountain Range in Shanshiire there is a cavern that has crude writing on the walls with instructions on how to find and contact Imbria and those who follow her. It is written in an archaic form of the standard alphabet but is still legible. Anyone stumbling upon this writing would find it to be complete gibberish. Even the most innocent of words, such as the name An'katerr is written strangely. In this shifted script it reads as GT'QGZKXX.

Only with study and patience would one decipher the words, putting the letters in the correct order.

Writing System

The Lunar script uses the same base alphabet as the rest of An'katerr. To keep their writings to each other a secret they shift the letters by 6, a number that is sacred to them. 5 is sacred to the rest of An'katerr so it's unlikely they would think to use a 6 shift.

Geographical Distribution

It's found all across An'katerr. Most people stumbling across samples of it would misidentify it as utter gibberish and leave it at that.

Vocabulary

It shares the same vocabulary as the main language of An'katerr. It's only the writing that is shifted.

Phonetics

There's no special phonology unique to this language. It's primarily a written language.
