Physical description

She has eyes that are a dark purple in color surrounded by long, thick lashes. Her skin is paler than is usual for a lunyari. Given who her mother is, it is perhaps unsurprising that her skin is milky white. The body stripes sported by all lunyari are dark purple. In the center of her forehead is a solidly colored circle. Her hair was once as black as the starless night, though it has since silvered out and is the only sign of her immense age. She’s on the short end of the spectrum for a lunyari and only 5’6’’. When they are displayed, her wings are silver in color. The markings showing where the wings would be on her back are silver and shaped like crescent moons.

Background

Hilandra is Hihaye’s half sister.

Hilandra is immortal and a demi-goddess, daughter of Kephru Moonsilver, and half-sister to Yuleta the Just. She's 2531 years old. The only outward sign of her age is her hair colour. It used to be black but has long since greyed out.

She's asexual and a virgin. She has absolutely no interest in romantic pursuits unlike her mother.

She's not fond of practical jokes and goes out of her way to avoid Not the Trickster.

She's technically a lunyari, but she doesn't have the body stripes she's supposed to have because of Szinre's meddling. Her half sister Hihaye is the same way. They're referred to as Regal lunyari to distinguish them from the rest.

She is one of only two members of House Melphor, the other being her half sister Hihaye. As rulers, they felt it was necessary to have an official House designation as the others do. The sigil of House Melphor consists of three intersecting ovals with the combined sigils for Center and Esprit at the centre. Traditionally, the ovals are colored silver and the central sigils are both colored gold.

Despite being related to Delyar, she finds centauricorns to be very intimidating both by their size and by their horns.

Hilandra was responsible for uniting the kairyyl people. Shortly after that, they declared her to be their ruler and built her a fine palace of her own on the shores of Windrider Lake. A city gradually came to be built up around it and was named Luhari. It's because of this that she eventually became known as the Twilight Empress, a title that is an homage to her mother.
