Reye's Disease
A disease that causes numerous detrimental effects to many organs, especially the liver, as well as causing hypoglycaemia. While there is no known cure, it's treatable and people inflicted with this ailment have been known to live fairly long lives. It has many characteristics in common with Rescher's Syndrome, causing many scientists to believe there may be a link between the two. The prevailing theory is that Rescher's is a mutated strain of Reye's.
Strabovirus
Symptoms: numbness, disorientation, muscle weakness, irritability
Cause: viral infection (moderately contagious)
Course: continuously worsens until death
Treatment: none
- Addendum: A cure for this ailment was found on the planet known as Tuthea. The cure comes from a plant common to the northern hemisphere.
