Ashen Tassle
Ashen Tassel
Type: Plant
Lifespan: 10 years
Average Height: 3 feet
Geographic Distribution: Zalityu
Growth Rate & Stages
Ashen tassel is a perennial plant that grows in the wild. Zalites have learned how to cultivate it for personal use and for profit.
It takes six years for this plant to reach its full height. It requires little in the way of maintenance beyond sunlight and a regular supply of water. Around a month before they are harvested, many farmers begin to water them heavily. This makes the leaves and stems soft and moist, making the harvest easier. If tended to properly, it can be harvested four times a year.
Ecology and Habitats
It grows best in hilly areas, preferring the western slopes of a hill.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
The ashen tassel has been used as a stimulant for centuries. The Zalites have been chewing its leaves in social settings long before the formation of Zalityu .
Consumption of the plant is primarily in chewing the fresh leaves. Sometimes the leaves are dried and made into tea.
