Editing Spirit guardians

The life of a [[sehashi]] is, by nature, dangerous and many fall in the line of duty before they ever have the chance to retire. Some of the fallen Sehashi are given the option to stay among the living as a spirit in order to teach and train others. Most choose not to.

Under some circumstances, a sehashi can lock their spirit into the object they use to activate their powers. This has the effect of temporarily strengthening them, but if they die while locked in like that, their spirit become forever trapped inside. Most spirit guardians became so under these circumstances. It is as yet unknown if it is possible to release the trapped spirit.

This was discovered by accident by a sehashi named Shalidor during the time of the first sehashi. She was never able to discover why these trapped spirits forget how they came to be so and was never able to discover a way to free any of them.

The Ssu-Ling used this research to their advantage as a way to leverage their followers, claiming that the spirit guardians were trapped on purpose as part of an experiment that continues due to a device in [[Shalidor]]’s lab.
