Most Kal'tresh'nal have a darker skin tone, but those who prefer to live in the underwater cities are noticeably paler. 
While they posses wings, they aren't like those of a bird. They're covered in a thin layer of fur and can be used to fly, but are mostly used to propel them through the water. 
They developed the ability to breathe underwater, though they can only do so for so long before they need to surface again.

They prefer their mysticism over technology, though that's not to say that they shun technology. They rely on it to keep their cities from being crushed by the weight of the oceans and to keep them afloat. 

The kal’tresh’nal seem to be a very physically intimate people to outsiders, but they fail to see why outsiders place such importance on something like kissing or more… intimate contact.

Traditionally, they have three names. 
The first is their public name. Known as their Sky name, this name is as changeable as their personality. It's the name everyone knows them by. Changing your Sky name is a big deal. 
Second is their Heart name, the secret name that their mothers give them at birth. This name is said to have power over them and is kept secret, told only to someone they trust. 
The third name, the Soul name, is a name they seek out for themselves when they come of age. It's found through quiet meditation. This name encompasses all that they are and is almost never told to anyone. 
To know all of a person's names is to have supreme power over them.

Gehenna Gemstones

[[Gehenna City]] is protected by a varied number of sehashi who are collectively known as the Gehenna Gemstones. Its original members were Lapis, Onyx, Emerald, and Quartz. Onyx is the only one still active.

Lapis moved away from Gehenna and has severed all ties with the other team members. Her current status is unknown.
Emerald retired from duty due to a serious injury.

Quartz got married shortly after high school. She had a child but died a few years later from illness.

= Origins =
Centuries ago, there was a civil war in the [[Auri'll'ye Hiilshadaar]]. It began as a power struggle on [[Raiven]] between the [[tash kireil]] and the [[raishuten]] with whom they shared the planet. Gradually, the other seven worlds were dragged in to the fight. The conflict went on for a couple years before the tash kireil forces were finally defeated.

The High Queen chose to exile those involved in the uprising, sending them to a habitable world in a nearby star system. They were given no means of leaving this world and warned that should they ever find some means of escape that returning to the Auri'll'ye Hiilshadaar would mean their swift and merciless deaths.

They’ve called this planet Jegunur. In their language it means Far Home. It was chosen so that they would never forget that it’s not their proper home. The young are taught that Raiven is their real home and that they’ll one day return there.

These people are descendants from people who were exiled from the Auri'll'ye Hiilshadaar long ago. Under the guidance of their current chaudyu, [[Anai’la Saijou]], they're fighting to take back their ancestral homes.

= Leadership =
Before their exile, the [[tash kireil]] were led by tribal elders. After arriving on their new home world there was a great deal of fighting among the tribes until one tribe achieved dominance over the others. It’s leader declared herself to be the ruler over all the people and gave herself the title of chaudyu, which means queen. At first the people balked as it was a queen who had exiled them, but she stood firm, insisting that this was the proper way to spit in the face of those who denied them their rightful homeworld.

It was then that the Dorensha Jelushadar was born, it’s very name a promise to return home and conquer those who had sent them into exile.

Traditionally, the tribal leaders had an honour guard known as a Shepaki of five people known as Hetyá to protect them. These men and women are completely devoted to them and were to lay down their lives if the Neku (leader) was in danger. 
The Chaudyu saw no reason to change that tradition and it became a great honour to be chosen for her Shepaki. 

An’aila Saijo’s original Shepaki consisted of:

Only Rashuwo, Waromik, and Shihachu survived the assault on the [[Auri'll'ye Hiilshadaar]]. It broke tradition, but as Dishanon was occupied with attempting to convert [[Haariline|Princess Andalrien]] to their cause she felt comfortable breaking with tradition.

Real Name: Phaeton 
Location: Between Jupiter and Mars 
Size: In size it’s only about the same size as Earth’s moon. While today, the remaining chunks of it are only about 4% of that size. Not all of the fragments of Phaeton remained along its orbital pathway. Some collided with its neighbors, especially Jupiter 
Rotation: The planet completes one revolution in approximately 18 hours, giving it a shorter day than Earth. 
Revolution: Its orbital period is 1284 days. A year on Phaeton is equivalent of about 3.52 years on Earth 
Planet's Element: rocks 

= About the Planet: =
About the Sun(s): Sol 
About the Moon(s): Eridanos is a fairly small moon that is a very light amber in color. The moon was nearly vaporized when Phaeton exploded. The only remaining fragment is the asteroid known as 2685 Masursky. Eridanos became uninhabitable several centuries before Phaeton was destroyed. It’s people relocated to Phaeton and currently live on the continent of Tramestru. 
Any other celestial bodies: none, though when the planet exploded, it became the Asteroid belt located between Mars and Jupiter. 
Average distance from its Sun: 504 million km 
Main Terrain: Phaeton is very rocky with very little in the way of forested areas. The older mountain ranges (Mt. Helios, Maktorill mountains, Ikinis Mountains, Valeguard mountains, ) were formed primarily by overthrusting and are composed primarily of sedimentary rock. The mountains support coniferous forests 
The younger ranges (Mt. Arenis, Dushann, Ildra, Mt, Qior, Nialou mountains, the Strael mountains, and the Andymyen mountains) were formed by uplifting. These mountains are cored with granite. 
About the Soil: Most of the soil in the mountain valleys is good for growing. It’s a chocolate brown color. The higher up in the mountains you go, the lighter the soil become and the less things can be grown. It becomes quite soft and unsuited to growing anything but the hardy grass that the mountain goats eat. The soil in the marshalands and swamps is only good for growing a grain that resembles wild rice. 
The Waters: Phaeton’s oceans are significantly shallower than Earth’s. There are three oceans: Nestron, Phalaethri, and Devrani. Additionally, there are three seas: Jotheran, Yerren, and the Shilon pass. The Shanostre Sea is an inland sea. 
Popular/Common Resources: 
Largest known Surface Feature: Mt. Helios is the tallest mountain on the planet at 4,267 meters (13999.343 feet) in height. It is considered very difficult to climb as climbers have only made it to the peak 3 times in recorded history. 

= About the Atmosphere =
Sky Color: The sky is a greenish blue color 
Air Quality/Composition: Breathable air that is equivalent to Earth’s. 
Average Surface Temperature: On average, a day on Phaeton is about 15 degrees Celsius (59 degrees Fahrenheit). In general, the temperature remains constant. The Axial tilt is only about 5 degrees. It has more contrast to its seasons that Jupiter does, but their still not as severe as Mars’ or Earth’s. 
Maximum Surface Temperature: The hottest recorded day was 29 degrees (84.2 Fahrenheit) 
Minimum Surface Temperature: The coldest recorded temperature was 0 degrees (32 Fahrenheit). 
Common Weather Patterns: Thunderstorms are a common occurrence and often occur on a daily basis during the spring months. The sky is frequently speckled with clouds. 
Rare Weather Patterns: Completely clear days are uncommon. Snow is extremely rare.

Level of Technology: Technology was never a big concern for them, so they don’t really develop it much. They have very good farming techniques in order to squeeze every last bit of productivity out of the soil. 
Animal Life: The mountains are densely populated with a hardy mountain goat, birds of prey, small birds, rodents. 
Plant Life: Coniferous trees are common. Grass is a blueish color. Grapes are the largest cash crop with a type of ocean dwelling plant called pilir close behind it.

Common Traits: The royal family is know for having curly red hair and light blue eyes. All Phaetonians have some degree of curl to their hair. The normal colors are blond, brown, dark blue, and deep purple. Skin tones are rather pale. Normal eye colors are dark grey, brown, and lavender. 
Important Holidays: The birthdays of the current members of the ruling family are celebrated across the planet each year. Before the destruction of Phaeton, those days were as follows:

Oceana Day – the season of Na’ke is when it’s finally safe for the boats to travel the oceans and seas, and so on Solai 26 through Na’ke 02, there is a series of festivals. Solai 26 is a day to cleanse the ships and get them ready. Na’ke 01 is where the people make a big fuss out of sending the ships off to sea. The larger ships compete in a race (on a predetermined course). Smaller vessels compete to see who can bring the largest catch of fish, largest individual fish, and other marine contests. 
Mountain Day – the season of Klihalla is considered the best time of the year to climb mountains. Typically, this is held on Falderan 12.
Day of the Dead – on Torena 25 is a general mourning day.

== Eridanians ==
Origin: the moon of Eridanos 
Language: Eridanian, which is similar to Phaetonian, but with some distinct differences. Eridanians don’t use gender terms except when dealing with or referring to someone from outside of their culture. 
Common Traits: Unlike their cousins the Phaetonians, they have straight hair. Hair tones tend to be rather odd such as pink, green, pale blue, and white. Eye colors are likewise odd with grey-purple, pastel green, gold, and scarlet making up the norm. 
History: 328 years before Phaeton was destroyed, there was a thriving civilization on the moon Eridanos, but an earthquakle released a toxic substance into the atmosphere. This slowly began killing people. In a panic, the ruling duchess spoke to the King of Phaeton and requested a place for her remaining people. As Phaeton itself isn’t largely populated, the King at the time saw no reason to refuse the Duchess’ request and so the population of Eridanos was relocated to Tramestru. 
They still have their Duchess, but she’s largely a figurehead. The King is the real authority they must answer to and he can overrule any decision she makes. 
Important Holidays: These are holidays that are unique to the Eridanians and are carried down with them from the moon. 
Migration Day – held on the anniversary of the day the migration was completed. 
Eridanos Memorial – this was originally a celebratory holiday marking the rise of civilization on Eridanos, but after it became uninhabitable, the holiday became a day or mourning for their lost home.

Elysium Valley International Airport (YYV/CYYV) is located to the south east of the city. The airport has three terminals. Terminals 1 and 2 are connected to each other via the Canada Border Services Agency arrivals hall. 
Terminal 1 is the international terminal. All flights from outside Canada arrive and depart from here, including flights from the United States
Terminal 2 is a separate building and is the base for domestic flights. All flights within Canada arrive and depart from Terminal 2.
The terminals are connected by a bus, Airside T2 to Groundside T1. The bus is operated by the Elysium Valley based airline, Azure Air. This airport is seen as a cheaper option to landing in Calgary or Edmonton, and often serves as the alternate airport for Calgary. 
Azure Air's livery consists of a dragon painted on the body of the aircraft so that the first and second passenger windows appear to be eyes.
The airport is connected to the Downtown and Spring Glades districts of Elysium Valley by public transport buses, and a less frequent intercity bus service to Calgary.

= The Great War =
What is now referred to as the Great War happened when a large group of [[sehashi]] all over the known universe went bad. No one noticed what was happening until it was too late. They’d learned from the mistakes all the past rogues made and concealed themselves until they were ready to make their move. The war raged on for a long time, the equivalent to almost thirty Earth years. Countless lives-—both civilian and sehashi-—were lost. Worlds were damaged permanently by the fighting, some were rendered uninhabitable. The rogue sehashi were able to turn other sehashi to their cause and some even managed to act as double agents, causing massive damage before they were found out. That was bad enough, but the worst damage came from the civilians they recruited. No one saw it coming. The sehashi all foolishly believed that the war would be just like the other conflicts and things would be kept amongst themselves and not involve outsiders. Those corrupted civilians are how the Lords of Chaos were first formed.

It took a long time at the cost of dozens of sehashi lives to find the source of the problems. The Ssu-Ling were the ones responsible for corrupting other sehashi, turning them to their cause. They were so quiet, keeping mostly to themselves and protecting the borders of the land they thought of as theirs from invasion. Anything that happened outside of that area they didn’t worry about. No one was ever able to figure out how they managed to corrupt so many when they never actually left their country. Earth’s sehashi were historically very close to each other and were, in fact, the most closely knit group in existence. At least, until after the war; understandably, things changed. Had any of the five Ssu-Ling left their country, someone would have noticed. They didn’t leave and they had no visits from any of the sehashi who went rogue.

After it was discovered that they were behind it all, those sehashi who were strong enough confronted them. There were six of them who survived the fight. The powers of the [[Ssu-Ling]] were so great that they were unable to defeat them and so they combined their powers and sealed the weakened Ssu-Ling away in a pocket dimension. Five keys were created to unlock this seal. Those keys are the only things binding them. If they had them in their possession, there would be no way to seal them up again. Those keys are objects of phenomenal power and would make them stronger than they were before.

Spirit guardians

The life of a [[sehashi]] is, by nature, dangerous and many fall in the line of duty before they ever have the chance to retire. Some of the fallen Sehashi are given the option to stay among the living as a spirit in order to teach and train others. Most choose not to.

Under some circumstances, a sehashi can lock their spirit into the object they use to activate their powers. This has the effect of temporarily strengthening them, but if they die while locked in like that, their spirit become forever trapped inside. Most spirit guardians became so under these circumstances. It is as yet unknown if it is possible to release the trapped spirit.

This was discovered by accident by a sehashi named Shalidor during the time of the first sehashi. She was never able to discover why these trapped spirits forget how they came to be so and was never able to discover a way to free any of them.

The Ssu-Ling used this research to their advantage as a way to leverage their followers, claiming that the spirit guardians were trapped on purpose as part of an experiment that continues due to a device in [[Shalidor]]’s lab. This is a complete lie.

= Definition =
The word sehashi means 'shining light' in the language of the place where all light comes from, the Heart of the Galaxy. 

= Origin =
Within each living being is a spark of light. Some races of people call this spark different things. Essence. Soul. Spirit. Psyche. Energy. Anima. Ego. Pith. Pneuma. Whatever the word it was called by, it was the same thing. Without this light, no life could exist. Opinions differ on where this spark of light comes from. Some say it was a gift from their gods. Some claim it evolved spontaneously. 
All of those in possession of this light are free to do with it as they choose. Like any light, it can dim and grow dark over time or its shine can grow brighter. It is ultimately up to them. Some are born with purer light than others, others are born with a dimmer light. Not many of these people are aware of the purity of this light within them and go about their lives never realizing that it is there, without knowledge of the potential they possess. As a result, their light dims over time. Others, rather than dimming, grow corrupt, their light becoming darkness. 
There are those who discover that this pure light lives within them and learn how to use it. These people become sehashi, defenders of their worlds.

== Sehashi and Myths ==
Not all figures from ancient mythology were sehashi. Some were real people and many of those so-called gods were called by different names in different countries. Some had as many as four or five names for one person. It tended to get confusing. Earth wasn’t alone in that, but it was often used as the example. Trayos VI was nearly as bad, as was Phrya Prime, a world not far from where [[Laira]] was born. When belief in gods faded, some worlds came to think of sehashi as demons or witches and some even ceased to believe in them altogether. Witch hunts on Earth and a few other worlds managed to kill a large number of sehashi before they ended. Earth hasn’t believed in the sehashi in hundreds of years. Some are glad for that but others… Well, some came to resent that.

= Governing Body =
Not all sehashi were good people. They may have all started out that way but power has this tendency to corrupt and sehashi have the potential to become very powerful indeed. It wasn’t often that things went badly, but it happened. There was at one point a governing force of sehashi, a Grand Council. They had their headquarters on a planet called Rihyad in orbit around the star that the people of Earth call Kochab, located in the Ursa Minor constellation. 
It didn’t often do much, leaving most worlds to govern themselves, but when a crisis came up involving more than one world they became useful. When a sehashi went bad, or more than one—as has happened from time to time—they rallied the sehashi to bring those rogues down. In this way, peace was maintained. 

Members of the Grand Council come and go but there are always at least three and a maximum of thirteen. Members of the council are required to have achieved at least a bronze or Hero level uniform. Guardians are rarely seen on the council as they’re far too valuable in their home systems to leave. A Sentinel would be more commonly seen as would a Celestial.
Every species in the galaxy is eligible to sit on the council provided that they’re aware of the galaxy at large. Less advanced species, such as humans, have never had a council member. This policy isn’t meant to be exclusionary, but is instead meant to both protect the less advanced worlds from knowledge they shouldn’t yet have and to prevent the council from having members who aren’t familiar with how things are done away from their home worlds. 
The general rule of thumb is that a species has to have been advanced enough for interspecies relations for at least fifty years to even be considered. 

Council members temporarily relocate to Rihyad to serve out their decade long term. If they aren’t killed in office, they select a successor from among the available candidates. Hero-level sehashi aren’t common enough that there are many to choose from. It’s not unheard of for a seat to go vacant while a suitable replacement is found. 
The current Grand Council only has three members.

== Objects of Power ==
There are objects aside from the keys that hold great power. Like the keys, these are often handed down in sehashi lines, but will from time to time be transferred to another sehashi that the original holder finds worthy and trusts with the object. There are several still in existence. Known ones include the Mirror of Telaia, Hermes’s Anklet, [[Shanharra's Earring]], and [[Araid's Staff]]. It is unknown whether or not the mythical [[Heart of Abraxas|Abraxas’s Heart]], said to have belonged to the supposed [[The First Sehashi|First Sehashi]], still exists. 

Objects of power started off their existence as ordinary things that were used a great deal by a sehashi and, over time, some of that power transferred into the object. All sehashi have the ability to create one of these objects, though it’s most often accidental and most of these objects can only ever be used by the one who created them or their descendants, but the ones created by the more powerful sehashi can be used by others. These ones are heavily guarded as they can be dangerous in the wrong hands. 

= Uniform Colours =
Navy is the basic colour. The title of Warrior is associated with it. These are the most common sehashi. It's common for their uniforms to change in design, but will always retain the basic navy colour, signifying the level of their power. 

Cerulean is the second level of power with the title of Champion going along with it. The Champion's uniform is always different from anything they had as a Warrior, though their primary and secondary colours will remain consistent, regardless of their power level. 

Bronze is the third level. These sehashi have the title of Hero. It's very common for the uniforms displayed in this level to be somewhat more elaborate than the previous two levels of power. It's not common for a sehashi to progress this far. Most don't make it past Champion. 

An off white uniform signifies a Sentinel. These sehashi are not quite as powerful as the Guardians, but are often treated as the same thing. At this stage, they often choose a Guardian name for themselves, though they don't use it. If this stage is achieved, they will always make it to the next level. Very few Heroes make it this far. 

A pristine white uniform is the mark of a Guardian. This is generally seen as being the most powerful level possible. Only their primary colour is displayed alongside the white of their level. 

A multi coloured uniform is as uncommon as the white Guardian one and those who wear it are known as Celestial sehashi. These are sehashi that have nearly god-like powers and at some point in their planet's history, they were mistaken for such. These sehashi are often so powerful that they skip several of the early stages. 

Black uniforms are the rarest and only worn by the most powerful. At present, only three are known to exist. These sehashi are effectively immortal. There is no title associated with this uniform colour. In ancient times it was felt that there was no word strong enough to accurately describe their powers. These are the only sehashi that can outmatch a Celestial.

Like their cousins the [[Gummy|gummies]], they have a gelatinous, dome shaped body. They only noticeable difference is that these ones have sprouted flowers where their leaves were.

These are less common than regular gummies, but have been spotted all over Feralia.

They seem to be capable of eating practically everything, particularly meat and fruit.

There's a crack in her face under her left eye. 
Unlike natural born radiphians, she has dark grey skin. There are gaps in her skin that glow light blue-green. Her ears have pointed tips. She is lipless. Her hair is short and spiked upward. It doesn’t grow like natural hair although she could adjust its length if she wanted to. It blends in with her scalp at the base and is a blue to dark blue gradient at the top. 
Being artificial, she can modify parts of her body. It’s a common practice for Ikgar androids to do so. To avoid standing out from the other more emotional ones, she added flexible metal wings to each hip. These are dark blue.

Clothing style: It’s not necessary for her to wear clothing as she doesn’t feel the cold. Raphidians are uncomfortable with naked androids so all models wear some type of covering. It took a lot of convincing to get her to wear even minimal clothing. Her lack of emotion couldn’t comprehend why it was necessary. 
Personality: Shun is considered a failure by her creators. All the other Ikgar model androids display the capacity for emotion. Shun has no such ability. She finds emotions confusing. This aside, Shun is intelligent and capable of forming bonds of friendship and loyalty. It simply takes her longer than most. She finds concepts like betrayal and dishonesty difficult to grasp. 
Strengths: As an android, Shun is quite strong. She’s three times the strength of her planet’s native inhabitants. She’s curious to see how that strength stacks against other species. She doesn’t breathe. She often forgets that other beings need to do so. 
Weaknesses: Shun is vulnerable to strong magnetic fields as they can overload her circuits. She is also vulnerable to some types of minerals. As yet a full list has yet to be compiled. This is part of her compulsion to collect rocks, sampling strange minerals to see if they have any sort of ill effect on her physical or cognitive processes. 
Dream: To find a deserted planetoid and live without having to worry about other people and their emotions. 
History: Her lack of emotional capacity was cause for her to be scrapped. One of the factory workers, feeling sorry for her, took her home, falsifying the documentation. The other models in her series all pick names for themselves based on their individual characteristics. Shun, on the other hand, takes her name from part of her model designation. In the radiphian language, Shun means eight. The worker tried to get her to pick something else, but Shun felt it described her, as she was the eighth one built in the Lo construction group of the Ikgar model.

There's a crack in her face under her left eye. 
Unlike natural born radiphians, she has dark grey skin. There are gaps in her skin that glow light blue-green. Her ears have pointed tips. She is lipless. Her hair is short and spiked upward. It doesn’t grow like natural hair although she could adjust its length if she wanted to. It blends in with her scalp at the base and is a blue to dark blue gradient at the top. 
Being artificial, she can modify parts of her body. It’s a common practice for Ikgar androids to do so. To avoid standing out from the other more emotional ones, she added flexible metal wings to each hip. These are dark blue.

Clothing style: It’s not necessary for her to wear clothing as she doesn’t feel the cold. Raphidians are uncomfortable with naked androids so all models wear some type of covering. It took a lot of convincing to get her to wear even minimal clothing. Her lack of emotion couldn’t comprehend why it was necessary. 
Personality: Shun is considered a failure by her creators. All the other Ikgar model androids display the capacity for emotion. Shun has no such ability. She finds emotions confusing. This aside, Shun is intelligent and capable of forming bonds of friendship and loyalty. It simply takes her longer than most. She finds concepts like betrayal and dishonesty difficult to grasp. 
Strengths: As an android, Shun is quite strong. She’s three times the strength of her planet’s native inhabitants. She’s curious to see how that strength stacks against other species. She doesn’t breathe. She often forgets that other beings need to do so. 
Weaknesses: Shun is vulnerable to strong magnetic fields as they can overload her circuits. She is also vulnerable to some types of minerals. As yet a full list has yet to be compiled. This is part of her compulsion to collect rocks, sampling strange minerals to see if they have any sort of ill effect on her physical or cognitive processes. 
Dream: To find a deserted planetoid and live without having to worry about other people and their emotions. 
History: Her lack of emotional capacity was cause for her to be scrapped. One of the factory workers, feeling sorry for her, took her home, falsifying the documentation. The other models in her series all pick names for themselves based on their individual characteristics. Shun, on the other hand, takes her name from part of her model designation. In the radiphian language, Shun means eight. The worker tried to get her to pick something else, but Shun felt it described her, as she was the eighth one built in the Lo construction group of the Ikgar model.

Terminal 2 is a separate building and is the base for domestic flights. All flights within Canada arrive and depart from Terminal 2.
